【汉开成美】教师分享 | 探索计算机的奥秘，A-level计算机科学课程学什么？

I love technology was sparked when I was child, I thought it would be a great idea to take apart my PlayStation console. I was still eager to see how it all worked inside. I find it intriguing how fast society has been shaped and continues to be, by the influence of Computer Science.

在我小的时候，对于科技的好奇心与热情被不断激发，我觉得把我的PS主机拆掉是个好主意。我很渴望看看里面是如何运作的。我发现有趣的是，社会的发展因计算机科学的影响而变得迅速。

Now we are at a stage where nearly anything is possible and this is due to the relentless problem solving of computer scientists. The latest software update released by Tesla motors allows their cars to learn how to drive themselves, and is an example of artificial intelligence, a sector which I am most interested in.

现在，我们正处于一个几乎一切皆有可能的阶段，这是由于计算机科学家不断地解决问题。特斯拉汽车公司发布的最新软件，可以让他们的汽车学习如何自己驾驶，这是一个人工智能的例子，也是我最感兴趣的领域。

Technological advancements take place around us every day, from the evolution of bulky antenna phones into smart phones to the introduction of smart virtual assistants such as Apple’s Siri, Google Now and Windows’ Cortana. 

从笨重的天线手机发展为智能手机，到智能虚拟助手的引入，如苹果的Siri、谷歌Now和Windows的小娜，我们每天都在进行技术升级。

I am inspired by the fact that computer science has become a fundamental element in the development of a better, smarter future for our world and my goal make my students part of that development process.

计算机科学已经成为让世界发展更美好、更智能的一个基本要素，而我的目标是让我的学生参与这个发展过程。

A-level 计算机科学

During this month, the students have made great progress in Computer Science.  I am sure that A-level students have taken the first step to succeed in the computer exam.  After two months of hard work with the A-level students, I think that the students began to feel confident and not afraid of the final exam, and this is due to their hard work and managing their time efficiently.  

This month we learned about data types and structures, programming and data representation. The students learned how to think logically and analyze any mathematical problem by breaking down the question into small parts, then analyzing each part, and finally drawing a diagram or flow chart for each part.  After completing the diagram or flow chart, the students will start writing the code for the mathematical problem.  

The students and I did a workshop called Learn Python in a short time.  Students have begun to understand Python instructions and write simple code that solves some simple mathematical problems such as functions and arrays.

We did a class activity based on understanding the internal parts of the computer, allowing each student to open a laptop and see the internal parts of the computer.

我们做了一个基于了解电脑内部部分的课堂活动，允许每个学生打开一台笔记本电脑，看到电脑的内部部分。

A-level students are smart students who are eager to learn and excel in computer subject despite all the difficulties.  I wish the students of Class A to achieve their dream.
